Wolfgang Heckenberger is a German qualified lawyer and Chief Counsel Competition of Siemens AG. Prior to joining Siemens in 1999 he served for more than three years at the German Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) in Berlin and lectured as assistant professor at the University of Würzburg. Wolfgang is head of the Siemens Competition Practice Group which is part of the Legal Department (LEGAL Corporate & Finance). In this position he is responsible for advising the Siemens Group including Management Board and Supervisory Board on a worldwide basis in all aspects of Competition Law relating to mergers and acquisitions, collaborative and other horizontal and vertical arrangements, cartel investigations, antitrust related corporate governance, and state aid matters. His experience covers the complete range of the Siemens product and services portfolio. Wolfgang graduated from the University of Würzburg. He is a member of the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht eV (German Antitrust Lawyers’s Association) and board member of the Competition Committee of the BDI (Federation of German Industries).
