Shan Hu is an antitrust and competition and international trade lawyer based in Brussels. Shan advises international companies in Europe and Asia in the antitrust/competition field, she advises clients on multi-jurisdictional merger filings, abuse of dominance, international cartel investigations and global competition compliance issues. In the international trade field, she advises clients on anti-dumping, safeguards and anti-subsidy matters. She has acted for clients in a number of industrial sectors, including private equity, electronics, steel, airlines, oil and gas, telecommunication, music, mining, food and additives, beverages and other consumer products. Shan has published articles on EU and Chinese competition law. She has worked with the American Bar Association to provide comments to Chinese competition authorities regarding draft antitrust rules and has worked with an Asian competition authority on drafting merger remedies rules. She has also worked as a trainee in the European Commission’s Legal Service. Shan graduated with a LLB degree from East China University of Politics & Law (2004, China) before completing the LLM program in K.U.Leuven (2005, Belgium) and the LLM program at Columbia Law School (2009, USA). She completed the King’s College London Postgraduate Diploma in EU Competition Law in 2011. She joined the practice in January 2014. Her native language is Chinese and she is fluent in English.
