Leah Nylen is a journalist in Washington D.C. A graduate of the University of Virginia and Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, Leah is Chief Correspondent, North America for MLex, a Brussels-based wire service covering antitrust and regulatory risk. In that position, she covers US and Canadian antitrust issues, including cartels, class actions and conduct investigations. Leah was selected as an Abe Journalist Fellow in 2014 by the Social Science Research Council and the Japan Foundation Center for Global Partnership for a reporting project on Japanese cartels and cartel deterrence policies, and will spend six weeks in Japan later this year researching Japanese antitrust. She has previously worked for Bloomberg Government, Main Justice and Congressional Quarterly. She also worked as a freelance research assistant, most recently assisting with Michelle : A Biography by Liza Mundy, a biography of First Lady Michelle Obama, published by Simon and Schuster, and The Richer Sex : How the New Majority of Female Breadwinners is Transforming Sex, Love and Family, also by Liza Mundy.
